Self-Care Isn’t Selfish 💛 It’s What Makes Connection Possible

We often think of self-care as spa days or “treat yourself” moments (Thank you, Capitalism)—but the most powerful self-care is often simple, quiet, and free.

🌿 Types of Self-Care (Beyond Bubble Baths)

🧠 Mental Self-Care: Journaling, Saying no to over commitment, Taking a mindful break from screens, Learning new things

💛 Emotional Self-Care: Naming and validating your feelings, Talking with a trusted friend or therapist, Practising self-compassion

🧘‍♀️ Physical Self-Care: Resting when you’re tired, Nourishing meals, Gentle movement, Clean and tidy environment

🕊️ Spiritual Self-Care: Time in nature, Meditation or prayer, Reflecting on values and purpose

🌍 Social Self-Care: Boundaries that protect your energy, Quality time with people who uplift you, Asking for help when needed

💰 Financial Self-Care: Securing a stable income, not over spending, having a savings

True self-care is like watering your own roots 🌱—so you can offer shade, presence, and support to others. Self care is about caring for yourself so you can show up and connect with your community.

Try this:
Next time you notice feeling burnout or disinterested ask yourself:
“What would truly nourish me so I can show up with care—for myself and those I love?”

When we care for ourselves with intention, we create more space for compassion, connection, and community. 🫶
