Of all the homeless encampment-related stories I have done, this one seems to have captured the most emotion. Our group of sources in this neighbourhood have openly admitted they do not feel safe in their neighbourhood. I felt before I wrote this, I had to go to the site on Third Avenue and like the neighbours have said, it looks awful with garbage and clothing laying around and one tent was set up on Tuesday when I was there. I think the hope is that the property owner will develop the land. But then the question is, where do those homeless people go?
